Trees are fundamental to our well-being and quality of life, they are integral to natural ecosystems and provide a wide range of other social, economic and environmental benefits as well. ADAS believes that any tree risk management system should be a balance between these benefits and the low level of risk that trees present.
All landowners have a common duty of care under the Occupier’s Liability Acts 1957 and 1984 and statutory duties under the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974. These duties are to take all reasonably practicable precautions to ensure the safety of those on their land.
Our arboriculture team has developed a unique, cost effective approach to tree risk management that will ensure that you manage the risk from your trees within the legal framework and in accordance with industry best practice. In line with The National Tree Safety Group’s (NTSG) document on ‘Common Sense Risk Management of Trees’, our team of qualified and experienced arboriculturists will focus on where there is an actual need for tree risk surveys by zoning your land holding, based on the levels of usage and/or occupancy.
Our approach to tree risk management also includes the provision of a one day training course (if required) for our client’s staff to ensure that they have sufficient arboricultural knowledge to enable them to undertake routine tree inspections as part of their daily duties.
ADAS can provide on-going advice and support including expert tree inspections, aerial inspections, auditing and reviewing tree risk policies as required.
