Our ecologists can provide licenced and non-licensed method statements for European protected species and other protected species such as badger, water vole, roman snail, reptiles etc.
Most protected species have published guidelines which we normally use as the default standard when designing mitigation techniques.
We pride ourself on being pragmatic at everything we do. We approach each project with an independent, objective view of the most cost-effective and least impacting mitigation to produce sensible solutions that meet our clients’ needs. Our approach is a practical one - we know what works and what doesn’t. We know when to do things, and when not to.
Simple, efficient and cost-effective solutions
The primary choice for an ADAS ecologist is to influence a project approach to avoid the needs of complicated mitigation and licensing altogether. If this is not possible we are able to design mitigation strategies and help you apply for a licence. We will ensure that the process goes as smoothly as possible, with as little fuss as possible.
Innovation is one of ADAS’s core values, and by using and adapting new approaches we are able to keep costs and complications to a minimum.
Everybody can read guidelines, but they can be complex, and often allow for some interpretation and adaptation. The secret to the most successful ecological mitigation is to use ecologists who don’t just read and act on guidelines as a set of instructions. Ultimately, ADAS know what works and what doesn’t, and we encourage our ecologists to make the whole process easier for our clients by adapting ideas and discovering new techniques for more successful results.
