Future Farming Resilience Fund – how farmers can access free support for their business

Published on

Defra has announced the next round of fully funded advisory support as part of its Future Farming Resilience Fund (FFRF). From August 2021 to February 2022, ADAS will be delivering free, tailored one to one advice, events and skills development workshops to help farmers and land managers to navigate the changes brought about by the Agricultural Transition. The aims are to:

  • Help understand the changes that are happening as a result of the Agricultural Transition;
  • Identify if, how, what and when you may need to adapt your business model;
  • Access tailored support to address these changes.
Future Farming Resilience Fund – how farmers can access free support for their business

ADAS are offering this support to all farmers and land managers in England who are currently in receipt of Basic Payment Scheme (BPS) payments. We are offering:

One to one advisory support

We have a network of highly knowledgeable agribusiness consultants across the country who are experienced in undertaking farm business reviews and supporting farmers to make changes to their business. As part of FFRF, eligible farmers and land managers can access a free review of their business either online or in-person with one of our advisers.

The review will provide a documented, and independent, analysis that considers all assets, risks, performance and options for the future, summarised within an agreed action plan.

Agricultural Transition Webinars

From August, we will be delivering free webinars to raise awareness of the changes emerging around the Agricultural Transition. From BPS and the Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI), to upcoming grant support, we will provide an update on the current position and the potential implications to farm businesses. Event dates will be released in due course.

Business Skills Development Workshops

For farmers and land managers that would prefer to review their business themselves, we will be delivering skills development workshops led by our experienced consultants. We will show you how to review and interrogate your trading accounts, undertake a risk review and to develop an action plan that will prioritise areas that will make the most difference to your farm business.

We will ask for your feedback to support an evaluation of the process to help Defra to shape future support services.
