Expert witness training

Published on

RSK is committed to ensuring that its experts are well equipped to face the rigours of providing expert evidence in the civil and criminal courts. We recognise that instructing solicitors require experts to have a good working knowledge and understanding of the legal process and, in particular, of their roles and responsibilities.

Expert witness training

As part of a continuous programme of professional development RSK recently ran, with the help of visiting solicitors, a workshop entitled ‘Acting as an expert witness’. A total of 32 experts across the group benefited from this training, which addressed the key requirements of the Civil Procedure Rules (Part 35) and the Criminal Procedure Rules in respect of expert evidence and, in particular, experts’ duties and responsibilities to both the court and the client.

The organisers are most grateful for the help and support of Greg Dawson, DWF LLP; Esther Stirling, Harrison Clark Rickerbys; Simon Tilling, Burges Salmon LLP; and Caroline Metcalfe, Tees Law, and their invaluable contributions to this training
